Here is a list of resources I have been able to find.<\/p>\n<p>with great affection,<\/p>\n<p>Lynn<\/p>\n<p><strong>Housing Assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.va.gov\/homeless\/housing.asp#one\">Housing Assistance For Veterans<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.va.gov\/homeless\/housing.asp#two\">Information For the Community<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.va.gov\/homeless\/housing.asp#three\">The Grant and Per Diem (GPD) Program<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.va.gov\/homeless\/housing.asp#four\">Acquired Property Sales for Homeless Providers Program<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.va.gov\/homeless\/housing.asp#five\">Is a Veteran You Know at Risk of Losing Housing?<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><strong>&#8220;Those who have served this nation as Veterans should never find themselves on the streets, living without care and without hope.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u2013 VA Secretary Eric Shinseki<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Housing Assistance For Veterans<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Housing assistance for homeless Veterans and their families is available through several federal programs.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development <\/strong>and<strong> VA Supportive Housing Program (HUD-VASH)<\/strong> partner to provide permanent, supportive housing and treatment services for homeless Veterans.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;HUD-VASH is a collaborative program between HUD and VA combines HUD housing vouchers with VA supportive services to help Veterans who are homeless and their families find and sustain permanent housing.<\/p>\n<p>Through public housing authorities, HUD provides rental assistance vouchers for privately owned housing to Veterans who are experiencing homelessness. VA case managers may connect these Veterans with support services such as health care, mental health treatment and substance use counseling to help them in their recovery process and with their ability to maintain housing in the community. Among VA homeless continuum of care programs, HUD-VASH enrolls the largest number and largest percentage of Veterans who have experienced long-term or repeated homelessness. At the end of FY 2021, over 105,000 subsidized housing vouchers were allocated to HUD-VASH with more than 80,000 formerly homeless Veterans living in their own permanent housing as a result of this partnership between HUD and VA.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.va.gov\/homeless\/hud-vash.asp\">Learn more about the HUD-VASH Program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Information For the Community<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you know a Veteran who is homeless or at risk of homelessness, you can make a difference. VA provides extensive resources and support for Veterans through community partners and directly to Veterans facing homelessness.
